Well, there is a story behind this painting… When I first arrived in Santo Domingo after spending 10 years in Europe selling Old Master drawings, I found this remarkable painting in an old gallery. I was immediately struck by the artist’s bold, visceral strokes and the deep beauty of the work. Thus began my odyssey into the life and works of Carlos Goico, perhaps the most underrated artist of his time.
